Hassidic inspired fashion
O.K., so i know this has nothing to do with Israeli fashion, but i got such a kick out of this that i had to post it: In Barcelona fall ‘08 fashion shows a Korean designer by the name of Gunhyo Kim, presented his men’s label ”Il Galantuomo”, Gunhyo Kim, a graduate of Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Arts and a design assistant of Dries Van Noten was Inspired by Antwerp’s Hasidic Jewish community, designing chic, tailored ensembles of suit jackets, v-neck T-shirts, long tunics and loose pants.
This “inspiration” is not totally new, the most famous one is the 1993 Jean Paul Gaultier hassidic-inspired fashion show, which caused an uproar in the hassidic community.
